Born & Raised Around the Struggle,
that’s the cipher in the street and the philosophy behind Committee Record’s
Recording artist BRAS. Although Bras may
very well be a new face to the mainstream, he’s no amateur. With bona fide block respect, opening sold
out arenas, and history under his belt he is more than ready to storm the Hip
Hop industry and provide what it is lacking.
Duane ‘BRAS’ Abroal was born
June 24, 1980 in Brooklyn’s East New York. Born and raised in East New
York he learned quickly how to be a
survivor of the streets. Living a life
rich with experiences and triumphs that would later be conveyed through his
lyrical delivery; at the age of 12 he put his street experiences and hood
knowledge to work, developed his first lethal 16 bars and hasn’t stopped
since. The streets as his muse, his pen
his best friend and his verses on the pages of his life, he is definitely
bearing all and delivering the truth.
With some of the greatest
Hip Hop influences of the new generation surfacing , he continues to master his
forte. It’s not a large conviction to suggest, that Bras will be the next
takeover; With his innovative and bar for bar punch lines, Bras leaves no room
for tracks to breathe. As his music
surfaces, Bras will shake up the
industry.
He describes his music as a
balance between gangster rap and club anthems, With tracks like King of the Brook and Incredible. Bras is a
lyrical genius; he is versatile and possess a dynamic approach with his music.
As an underground artist on
an independent label his track record is more than impressive. He has opened
for headliners such as Ghostface, Freeway, and Multi-Platinum artist 50 Cent;
and, in Casper, Wyoming on Oct. 12th, 2003 he was a part of hip hop
history; opening for Mystical at the first ever Hip Hop Fest in Wyoming. Kay
Slay featured him on his show called the Drama Hour. Bras has worked with all
time hit maker 45 king. 45 King produced Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life and Eminem’s
Stan, 2 classic tracks pumped with groundbreaking originality. Bras warmed the
streets up when he realeased ‘’That’s Right” a 45 King produced track. Funk
Master Flex dropped bombs on his song on
NYC’s Hot 97 radio station.
BRAS is currently working on
his Street album, which is expected to be crammed with hunger, street genius,
and innovative finesse. Releasing continuous Committee stamped mix-tapes
entitled “Street Buzz” gives the thirsty Hip-Hop driven souls a sample of what
to expect .
Keeping busy, BRAS is in the
midst of redefining history and adding a
missing piece to the puzzle. Expect that he will be sweeping through a town
near you; it’s recommended that everyone gets their shot cause its gonna get
real crazy. He is committed to success and committed with that same passion to
Committee, down for the grind, and ready to merge with the industrys elite.
When asked why he is committed to committee he passionately says, “Committee is
real, it’s an organization, like you have the CIA, you have the MOB, then there
is Committee it’s a movement; like the Black Panthers and definitely not an
imitation.” So keep your eyes wide open and if you’re a true hip hop fan don’t
get caught sleeping on the job and miss history in the making.
