THE PRIDE OF EAST HARLEM: WILL PORTER

"They always said a rose grew in Spanish Harlem; with the cracks that I have
emerged from, I am surely destine to branch out"
Born in the city that never sleeps, more commonly known as the Big Apple, the mecca, the birth of Hip Hop and with it a culture that has inspired so much of his being, WIll Porter is an ambitiously up and coming entertainer. A poet by craft, MC by choice the charismatic individual of Puerto Rican descent, was inspired by many a legend that walked the same El Barrio streets that he has called home for most of his life.
" I remember the love everyone in my neighborhood had for the likes of Tito Puente musically, and some one like the late Macho Camacho; that always made me feel like I could one day grab that kind of respect, if I could work hard enough and achieve my goals."
-Will Porter
Adopting a nickname which was given to him by many, WIll Gonzalez, which he was born as took to the art of Hip Hop at a young age. With influences such as KRS-One, Kool G Rap, Wu Tang Clan, and Big Pun he set his sights high on the totem pole of the genre which has inspired so many. Ever the music affficionado, his preference is not only limited to rap; you can easily catch heavy metal and classical selections on his playlist at any given time.

HIs lyrics are gritty, his portrayal is of real experiences. What he has felt, seen, and done. A product of the old ways where what you spoke is what you could prove, WIll Porter brings that approach to his song output. Preaching upliftment and positivity to all whom are in ear shot of his delivery, WIll Porter is a true voice for the people- his people. The underserved, the forgotten, yet hopeful. That hope- to rise above. Nevre forgetting whhere he has come from or those who have helped him in his plight, Will Porter lends his hand to each and every situation that he can. A true champion of empowerment in his neighborhood and abroad.
"With all the loses that I have experienced, for me today its about contribution My goal is to have an impact on the lives of all those that I come into contact with- musically, and socially"
- Will Porter
Vowing to honor the memory of all those who have been instrumental to his efforts, he brings their spirit with him into the booth and on stage. To date, Will Porter has had the opportunity to grace the stages of so many of New York City's most notable Hip Hop venues as both a poet and an MC. Have received accolodas from Street's Mos Hip Hop Conference and Magazine featuring as well as many online mentions, with more to come, at this point in the career of Will Porter its about the message, and distributing to it to a wider audience. With his new smash single " Get Ya Cameras Out" gaining a healthy buzz its looking like 2013 is gonna be promising for the Will Porter brand as well as his Team 110 Movement.
